Wednesday, October 14 was the second South Sound chum test fishery at Apple Cove Point. Tides were not ideal: ebbing in the morning and flooding in the afternoon. Catches improved somewhat over the previous week with a total of 714 chum caught in six seine sets (plus 57 coho and 37 immature Chinook). The breakdown by set as as follows:
Set 1: 39 chum, 7 coho and 4 immature Chinook
Set 2: 69 chum, 12 coho and 8 immature Chinook
Set 3: 120 chum, 11 coho and 7 immature Chinook
Set 4: 248 chum, 10 coho and 8 immature Chinook
Set 5: 150 chum, 10 coho and 4 immature Chinook
Set 6: 88 chum, 7 coho and 6 immature Chinook
